Just a quick update while I'm going through my email.

+ I went to Michael's and discovered a much better selection of paints. I bought Liquitex neon colors to compare to Walmart's brand of paint and Artist Loft. I'm pretty certain Artist Loft was the brand that Walmart used to carry? Artist Loft is terrible. Absolutely terrible. It dries like a marker and has none of that "plastic-y" substance to it that most acrylic paints have. I will save it and use it for some experiments with markers or watercolors but I will never buy that paint again for anything serious. I haven't used the Liquitex yet but I imagine it will work wonders.

+ I bought a Wacom Intuos Pro drawing pad. I was sort of divided on that or getting my hands on Procreate via the standard edition iPad. Both cost the exact same amount. However, I know the Wacom will last me years longer than a device that will eventually stop getting support because they purposefully phase out their older generations to make you buy new stuff. I'm still not down with that. I bought a drawing pad so when I'm in-between being able to buy paints I can still paint. Or even paint and illustrate my paper drawings. Honestly, the possibilities are endless with this sort of tool. I will never stop using traditional methods. Painting is way too fun for me as is getting messy with charcoals and pastels. Sorry, but the computer will never take away the physical satisfaction of making a mess on paper. :)

+ The old crusty orange fart is about to try and implement steeper tariffs on China. We are about to see inflation sky rocket again if the Supreme Court doesn't stop him. And when this happens, people will still blame everything else but the damn idiot. I'm beyond stressed. I can barely afford this right now. I don't know if I'll afford it in the future with a roommate. Why exactly did anyone think he's better for the economy? His previous tariffs on aluminum and steel is what made car prices out of our reach. He's about to sink us all into a depression. Fuck the economy, fuck the constitution, we got a president that's so fake he pretends to be Christian and swapped his party just to win - amirite? What is wrong with this country.....

I found this while scrolling through reddit. This is going to be an excellent resource for practicing on dynamic posing. I went and scrolled through a "class" just to see what it's like. I like that. A lot. Especially for figure drawing. I'm going to have to bite down on that bullet and practice realism and proportions eventually.

I'm unsure if I'll sticky this post but for now I've made it and I'll add other art related resources here in the future.

(I officially signed up for [community profile] communal_creators !! I opted for the time table. I want to work on both my writing stuff at work for at least fifteen minutes and then spend another fifteen minutes on my art projects at home. Now here is some creative writing stuff below. As usual, I will catch up on my reading page this Friday. Warning: this blurb has some nudity and sexual explicit stuff. Nothing heavy, probably embarrassing instead oh weeeeellll. I also forgot I wanted to change Rosalie's name maybe)

Explicit content under this cut )

I haven't been landscaping lately unless it's a very nice and dry day. I tried to just let my body sweat through it but nah, that's not happening. I'm sensitive to the heat and I just don't tolerate humidity very well at all. "Well little wolf, why are you down here then?" I ask myself that same question every day. It's just really complicated to move when you have so many roots in one spot, if that makes sense.

Anyways! Look at that bug!!!!!!! I did not know this was a bug until moved. I'm used to weird and horrifying insects in this state. I did not know caterpillars could purposely look like bird droppings! I just now checked on my orange tree and I haven't in a while because, well, it's been storming so I just kept pushing that off. Big mistake on my part. Apparently all those little orange balls I found stuck to my leaves late at night (I went checking because I noticed a few nibbles here and there and I wanted to catch the intruder - Google told me slugs come out at night) were the eggs of a swallowtail butterfly. I did not crush them all either. It was dark, I saw a couple and thought, "Huh. Must be some type of egg." *squish* and then went back inside.
