littlewolfteethThe fire is large and casts an orange glow on the three people sitting around it with the wolf. It cackles with a loud regularity as Cid picks up his container and shakes the dice around within it. Torgal’s ears prick up and he lifts his head off of Cid’s lap to watch him with a mild interest.
“You know Cid, I’m a little jealous of how much Torgal wants to cuddle with you instead,” Clive says.
Cid shrugs his shoulders a little bit before he throws the dice in the space between them. “I only gave him extra treats since you’ve been gone. You are the one he looks to in the heat of battle.”
Clive glances at the dice and winces.
“Don’t get me wrong, I care for him greatly but I don’t think there is a misunderstanding about who he loves most.” Cid looks over at Clive and winks while grinning. “Here, take a swig of this. You’ll be needing it after I win all of your money!” Cid passes the flask to Clive.
Jill snickers but clears her throat when Clive raises an eyebrow in her direction.
“I suppose you’ll be working extra hard to soften his edge tonight,” Cid says without missing a beat. Jill’s face turns a deep shade of red and she ducks her face behind an elbow.
